Who We Are
Our company was founded by Joshua Weinstein, a local history buff and lifelong resident of Hampton Roads. Joshua loved playing tour guide so much that he decided to start his own business.
He received his undergraduate degree in history from Old Dominion University in Norfolk and has been researching and conducting professional tours for the Chrysler Museum of Art, Norfolk’s historic cemeteries, and the NEON District for more than 5 years. His thorough research and adept public speaking have prompted lectures at several local history groups, including the Norfolk Historical Society, the Hunter House Victorian Museum, and Daughters of the American Revolution.
Joshua has also created art education programming for the Governor’s School for the Arts, presented historical research at the Virginia Forum, and served on the board of directors for historical preservation and human rights nonprofit groups.
He created the Norfolk Tour Company to provide engaging, entertaining, and educational experiences for everyone. All are welcome.
"Informative, educational, and entertaining you won't be disappointed in taking one of their tours. From Norfolk's historical happenings of yesteryear to the new additions of art in the Neon District his multifaceted talents blend to bring the best tours around."
"Josh gives the best and most comprehensive tours. He knows the ins and outs of local happenings and history."
"We've taken educational tours of the historic Elmwood Cemetery, exhibits at the Chrysler Museum, fun tours of the new NEON District, and we always have a great time. If you're looking for a good time with your friends, or if you're a teacher and would like your class to learn more about local history or the arts, then check out these tours. As a parent, I can attest that my kids love the tours as well."
